# Week 1 (Sept 9 - 15)

This week, the team worked on starting and completing the Game Proposal. We met two times this week to discuss, ideate, and finalize our ideas. This week, proposed my ideas for a puzzle / adventure game. I created very simple mood boards and mock-ups using Figma, utilizing screenshots from other games and cutting and pasting it into different layouts. There were not any problems identified for this week. Moving forward, we will continue to work on the project and try to stick to the proposed timeline.

My first idea was a time puzzle game that got the player's current time to display the level.

My first idea was a time puzzle game that got the player's current time to display the level. I was also thinking that the brightness of the level could be reflective of the real-world time. For example, if the player was playing at 10:00PM, their field of view would be low. One issue with this idea is that it would be frustrating for players to play the same level multiple times, since the minutes only increase by 1. Also, if the numbered levels don’t have any variation, it can become quite repetitive.

My second idea was a different puzzle game that allowed player's to build the level before they played it.

My second idea was a different puzzle game that allowed players to build the level before they played it. This way, it is kind of like two games in one. Players who excel at puzzles could be able to find the correct combination, so that when they play the actual level it is quite easy. Or, for players who prefer a challenge, they could go into the randomized level and try their best to still reach the end. However, this idea would require a lot of forethought into the level design and may be difficult to code.
